On behalf of the Sovereign Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Knights of Malta (KMFAP) our Postulant (accepted candidate to knighthood) Ing. Martin Sládek offered a significant donation of food and hygienic tools and products to the Slovak charity organisation DOMOV pre Každého (Home for Everyone) in February 2022.

This civic association was registered in 1997 at the Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic based in Bratislava. The declared mission of the founders is to alleviate misery and suffering, to promote equal rights of socially disadvantaged Slovak citizens and to support their integration into family, work and social life on the principles of humanity, freedom and democracy. The association’s members provide services mainly for socially deprived citizens, such as job opportunities for the homeless, processing documents, applications to employment offices and health insurance companies, giving help to solve the problems in processing pensions.

DOMOV pre Každého offers also help to homeless people who want to reintegrate into society. Besides running a homeless shelter in Bratislava, they try to find other accommodation options for the homeless. An important task of the association is to help former inmates of children’s homes to integrate into society and to look for work so that they can become independent. The organisation cooperates with the Slovak government, the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family, the self-governing region of Bratislava and the City Hall.

The humanitarian aid of Ing. Martin Sládek also covered the Slovak Children Hospital Kramáre (Decká Fakultná Nemocnica Kramáre), where he undertook the renovation of some premises, including the installation of new windows and doors, at a cost of € 6000.

In 2019, KMFAP made a financial contribution to the publication of a book in Slovakia, entitled Chirurg, about the professional career of a world-renowned Slovak medical doctor of dermatology, Prof. MUDr. Ján Koller, Csc. The book, written in Slovak language, did not receive enough publicity due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Koller is Head of the Department of Burns and Reconstructive Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, Comenius University and UNB at the Ružinov Hospital in Bratislava. He is the greatest expert of the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic for tissue and cell transplantation. His practice includes burns, plastic and reconstructive surgery, and tissue and cell transplantation. With his devoted work and great professional experience and expertise, he saves the life of many children and adults. He is an internationally recognised specialist in reconstructive surgery, to which he has dedicated his life.
